State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature

The State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature is one of the largest literary museums in our country and the only literary museum that documents the literary process in Belarus in a broad historical context: from the time of the emergence of writing to the present day.

It was founded on November 6, 1987 by order of the Ministry of Culture of the BSSR. The museum is located in several buildings of the Trinity Suburb in Minsk, the areas of which were adapted for museum premises during the renovation. The museum was opened to the public in 1991.

The funds of the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature and its branches are a unique collection of museum items related to the history of Belarusian literature, and have more than 108 thousand items of storage.

It includes rare editions of old printed monuments of the XVII-XVIII centuries, manuscripts, documents, photographs and personal belongings of Belarusian writers of the XIX-XX centuries, autographed books, rare items of iconography and illustrations of famous Belarusian artists to the works of Belarusian literature. A separate part — materials related to the life and work of M. Bogdanovich and P. Brovka.

Today the museum consists of 9 branches:

  3. Folvark Rakutevschina (Minsk region, Molodechno district, Rakutevschina village).
  4. Petrus Brovka Literary Museum (Minsk, K. Marx str. 30);
  5. Petrus Brovka House-Museum (Vitebsk region, Ushachsky district, Putilkovichi village);
  6. Museum-estate of Frantishka Bogushevich "Kushlyany" (Grodno region, Smorgon district, A. G. Kushlyany);
  7. Museum-estate of the Mickiewicz Family "Zaosye" (Brest region, Baranovichi district, Zaosye village);
  8. Vasil Bykov Dacha Museum (Minsk region, Minsk district, A. G. Zhdanovichi);
  9. Kuzma Chorny Literary Museum (Minsk Region, Kopylsky district, Timkovichi village);
